Without question, Black Mesa is one of the most anticipated mods in years. Originally known as Black mesa: Source (they removed the ‘Source’ at Valve’s request), it began when the teams from two other mods: Leakfree and the Half-Life: Source Overhaul Project, merged to form one super-powerful mod team. Since then, they’ve been working hard at bringing Half-Life over into a much prettier package. It was originally based on the first Source engine, but now uses the 2007 version released with the Orange Box.
After all this years, Black Mesa is finally playable!So enjoy kids :D

1. The 2007 Source SDK. You can install this from the Library > Tools menu in Steam. Alternatively, you can just click click this link.

Watch the Awesome E3 'Dishonored' Gameplay Trailer

So this looks really great to me. Victorian steampunk. Stealth, combat, and magic. It’s a first-person melee game for the most part, and if it were being developed by the same team behind Elder Scrolls that might make me nervous – after all, I’ve never been overly fond of the combat mechanics in the Elder Scrolls games.

But Bethesda is only the publisher behind the game. Arkane Studios is developing the title, and they have veterans of Deus Ex, Thief, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, and Half-Life 2 working on Dishonored, which makes me more excited than ever.
The gameplay looks as bloody as you’d expect. It’s hard to get a great feel for actual mechanics even from a gameplay trailer. But between daggers, guns, and powers like teleport and possession, this should be a neat new IP. The new IP piece of the puzzle is also key to my growing anticipation.

Hopefully all this hype pans out and we get a unique, highly playable game when it does release this October on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

E3 2012: Assassin's Creed: Liberation Announced For the Playstation Vita

Sony made it very clear during its E3 press conference today that it’s fighting hard for the Playstation Vita, and to that end, it just announced Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation, a Vita-only title coming this October.

The game looks like it takes place in the unsuccessful Louisiana rebellion of 1768, giving the player a chance to butcher some Frenchmen to the backdrop of 18^th century New Orleans. It will also feature a female Assassin for the first time in franchise history.

Being a resident of the Big Easy, I naturally think more video games should be set in this bizarre little corner of the world, and I’m excited to see what Ubisoft makes of the 18^th century here. We’re doubling down on early American history with Assassin’s Creed: Liberation. The Vita needs big name, must-play titles, and AC is a good start. Metal Gear Solid, Playstation Battle All Stars and Call of Duty aren’t going to hurt either.
Liberation will be available as part of a Playstation Vita bundle with a 4G memory card and a brand new white Vita.
